On behalf of Leo Carey American Legion Post 56 and it’s 487 post members, 233 Auxiliary members, 131 SAL members, and 70 Legion Riders, Welcome!
We work tirelessly to provide a atmosphere where members or non-members and their families can enjoy delightful dining, entertainment and fellowship within our facility.
THE AMERICAN LEGION PREAMBLE
"For God and Country, we associate ourselves together for the following purposes: To uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America; to maintain law and order; to foster and perpetuate a 100-percent Americanism; to preserve the memories and incidents of our associations in all wars; to inculcate a sense of individual obligation to the community, state and nation; to combat the autocracy of both the classes and the masses; to make right the master of might; to promote peace and good will on earth; to safeguard and transmit to posterity the principles of justice, freedom and democracy; to consecrate and sanctify our comradeship by our devotion to mutual helpfulness."
The Legion was founded on the premise that all those serving in the U.S. Armed Forces during times of national crisis, regardless of place of service, are eligible to belong to The American Legion. Our membership is based on period of service, not place of service. Therefore, if you have served at least one day of active duty since Dec. 7, 1941, and must show a DD 214 and honorably discharged, you can become a member.
